Description of Role

RampRate/Syzygy Impact Chief of Staff is the right-hand person and force-multiplier to the CEO and Head of Operations. This role encompasses organizing and managing the CEO’s daily priorities while overseeing staff and internal operations, including accounting and human resources teams. This person will also initiate and maintain special projects.

The Chief of staff will be required to enable effective communication between the RampRate team and project stakeholders, including equity partnerships, investors, developers, enterprises, and the tech policy community in order to create and sustain value, visibility and transparency. The integration and dissemination of information pertaining to a range of areas including strategy, finance, operations, development, and more is expected.

Internally, the Chief of Staff will support the leadership team in setting strategic objectives and developing implementation plans, and will work closely with the leadership team and various functional teams to coordinate efforts in order to achieve these goals.

Work Environment

This position is a needed and valued component of a super interesting 15 person company which aims to create impact and “Elevate the Way Business Does Business." This position is fully remote, but the ability to travel is required.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO in identifying time-sensitive priorities, strategically aligning schedules accordingly, and regularly monitoring their progress
  • Act as a thought partner, brainstorming & identifying solutions to challenges, and developing frameworks to help guide decision-making
  • Manage a variety of long-term, cross-organizational projects
  • Support the internal events calendar including, but not limited to, all-hands meetings, company events, and investor events
  • Apply innovative approaches in managing organizational challenges in a manner that reflects the culture and values of the projects
  • Spearhead special projects as directed by the CEO and the Board

Daily Activities

  • Oversee meeting preparation and planning for the Board of Directors, and support the CEO in managing interactions with the board and investors
  • Provide communications support, including drafting emails, reports, memos, presentations, internal and external communications, and social media posts
  • Prepare agendas, take notes, and assign action items at strategy meetings and help the CEO to propel and monitor progress on these
  • Create/enhance/maintain “About Syzygy/RampRate” presentations and materials that are compelling and accurately reflect the project’s vision, mission, and strategic roadmap



  • 5+ years of experience working in a similar full-time role, preferably in wide-ranging or cross-functional areas, and an eagerness to learn new skills
  • Have supported a successful executive or have been one yourself
  • At least one year of experience working with cryptocurrency and blockchain. Experience internet routing protocols would be an advantage, but is not required. However, interest in this area is a must.


  • An uncompromising ability to maintain strict confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and the highest level of discretion in handling sensitive material
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication; excellent listening skills and the ability to learn to communicate in someone else’s “written voice” to help prepare comments, presentations, and memos

Target Compensation

Compensation model of base plus a quarterly bonus composed of company and individual performance metrics. Pay range is open, commensurate with experience and qualifications as well as participation in employee stock plan. Can be hourly or contractor.
